What do they do?
Altar servers carry the cross, the processional candles, hold the book for the priest celebrant when he is not at the altar, carry the incense and censer, present the bread, wine, and water to the priest during the preparation of the gifts or assist him when he receives the gifts from the people, wash the hands of the priest, assist the priest celebrant and deacon as necessary.
What are the requirements to join?
They must be at least 10 years of age and have recieved the sacraments of baptism and 1st Holy Communion.

Los monaguillos llevan la cruz, las velas procesionales, sostienen el libro para el sacerdote celebrante cuando no está en el altar, llevan el incienso y el incensario, presentan el pan, el vino y el agua al sacerdote durante la preparación de los regalos o lo ayudan cuando recibe los regalos de la gente, lava las manos del sacerdote, asistía al sacerdote celebrante y al diácono según fuera necesario.
